Elizabella is 10 and a (very important) quarter. She is loveably naughty, a bit of a prankster and the bane of Bilby Creek School principal Mr Gobblefrump's life.

Elizabella doesn't mean to cause trouble - it just seems to follow her. But when Minnie, an even bigger schemer, arrives in town there's a bit of a stand-off as each tries to outdo the other in the tricking stakes.

Sisters Zoe and Georgia Norton Lodge have created an irresistible new character in their debut novel for ages 8 to 12.  A keen poet with a vivid imagination, Elizabella's efforts in trying to placate Mr Gobblefrump have hilarious consequences.

With a cast of other memorable characters in Miss Duck, who runs the school cafeteria, and long-suffering Dad, who revels in his garden, I'm really looking forward to this minx's next escapade.
