Brian Alderson was a pioneer of children's literature studies in Britain and is a prolific writer, reviewer and translator. His other titles include Swan's Stories (Walker, 1997), Thumbelina (CWP, 2009) and Brothers Grimm Folk Tales (Templar, 2012). Michael Foreman is a Kate Greenaway Medal-shortlisted author who has illustrated many best-selling books for children, including War Boy, War Game and Not Bad for a Bad Lad, authored by Michael Morpurgo (Templar, 2010).
