This breathtaking journey along the most important rivers in the world takes us from the Nile to the Amazon, the Mekong Delta to the Mississippi, the Murray to the Waikato.

Our seas and rivers tell a compelling story about our planet. Through tracking the life source of people, animals and the land itself, Peter Goes brings alive our history and our lives today. Each illustration includes major events and historical figures connected with its river, but also favourite stories and icons.

This absorbing, playful book shows who we are, how we live and the myths we weave around our people and places.

Lucy's Review:

The vibrant green cover of this brand-new, big, beautiful, non-fiction book from the author of Timeline, Peter Goes, will stop you in your tracks...and page after page of the most fascinating maps will draw you in until you completely lose track of time.

Covering all five oceans and seven continents (including Antarctica and a double spread on the Waikato), Rivers is packed full of facts from the mythological to the scientific. The brief texts are fascinating in themselves but also perfect for kickstarting further exploration and Goes' quirky illustrations bring our waterways to life.

Very highly recommended for fact-loving kids age 7+ and a great family gift. A must-have for libraries!
