Everyone knows real wolves go Grrrrr and HOWL at the moon ARR-ARR-ARR-ARR-OOOOOOOO! So what is this violin-playing, salad-munching fellow supposed to be?

What to make of a wolf who doesn't roar and howl at the moon....? Who eats aubergine salad and feta cheese, and plays the violin. Gosh, he even wears a cravat.

A young girl is perplexed by this "all wrong" animal, and she's determined to toughen him up. Time for a makeover then. Some tattoos perhaps, sharper teeth, a few sessions at the gym to pump some iron and build some muscle; the odd scary grrrrr would help too. She has her work cut out though, for this refined wolf is not keen on change.

Wellington author/artist Paul Beavis (Mrs Mo's Monster, Hello World) is a master of turning the weird into wonderful with his inventive storytelling and quirky illustrations.

Lots of laughter for the under 6's.
