The Naughtiest Unicorn (#1)

Author(s): Pip Bird

Junior Fiction

Get into trouble with the world's naughtiest unicorn in a new hilarious series for 6+ unicorn fans.

Mira CAN'T WAIT to start Unicorn School. (Her big sister goes and won't stop going on about it). But when Mira arrives on her first day all the unicorns are gone . . . except Dave!

Dave isn't quite the sparkly unicorn Mira was expecting to find at the end of the rainbow - he's more grumpy than glittery, more interested in lunch than magical Quests and he always runs off when Mira tries to ride him - but Mira's not going to let that get her down. Along with her new friends and their (much more glittery) unicorns, she is determined to be the best at Quests and protect the special unicorn world!

Perfect for fans of The Worst Witch, The Pug Adventures, and Pamela Butchart.

Lucy's Review:

Mira Desai's big sister Rani has been at Unicorn School for two years - and now it's finally Mira's turn! Soon she will have her very own UBFF (Unicorn Best Friend Forever) - who Mira dreams will be called Princess Delilah Sparklehoof - and they'll go on quests, have amazing magical adventures together, and win LOADS of medals. Unfortunately her UBFF turns out to be called Dave and he likes to sleep, eat (anything), fart and poo a lot.

A really funny and inclusive series with a diverse cast of characters. I was really worried it was going to be terribly twee (like many other unicorn books) but from the moment Rani tricks Mira into thinking the magic portal to Unicorn School is inside a bin, I knew this was going to be a book I enjoyed.

Perfect for the unicorn obsessed and those who think unicorns are dumb. Aimed at 6-9 year olds but could be read to 4+
